Ideally located on Marine Parade, right alongside the harbour in the heart of Whitby is the Moon and Sixpence, a truly delightful bar and restaurant.

The Moon and Sixpence provides a friendly, relaxed and stylish place to meet for drinks or a meal either during the day or on an evening. It has arguably some of the best views in Whitby, sitting in the huge windows you have a great view of the harbour and of the cliffs with the 199 steps winding up towards St Mary's church. Popular with locals and visitors alike, the Moon and Sixpence will welcome you back time and time again.

The Moon and Sixpence serves a superb range of drinks, including an excellent range of chilled champagnes, beers and wines from around the world and fruit juices. If you fancy something special then why not try one of their many cocktails prepared by their trained bartenders. The Moon and Sixpence also serve a wide variety of 'Illy' coffees and tea.

The menu at the Moon and Sixpence reflects the seasons nicely and you can enjoy fresh local seafood, game and meat, with options for vegetarians included too. Children are more than welcome at The Moon and Sixpence, although they do not offer a separate children's menu, or highchairs.

If you want to eat there then booking is recommended as they get very busy.

If you are lucky enough to find a vacancy the Moon and Sixpence also has 3 wonderful luxury suites you can stay in. The suites have a great variety of 'extras' including king sized bed, room service breakfast, a 40" LCD TV and a Jacuzzi to name a few.*
